Adam joined the Focus Hotels team in 2023 and brings with him more than two decades of valuable industry experience. His appointment as Chair of the BHA reflects his longstanding commitment to hospitality, extensive operational knowledge, and drive to support collaboration and growth within Bristol’s hotel community.
Commenting on his new role, Adam said:
“I am confident that, with support from everyone, we will continue to run a fantastic organisation. My passion for hospitality and the industry continues to be stronger than ever, and this new role enhances this even more.”
A graduate of Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in Hotel & Catering Management, Adam began his career in 1999 on the Marriott graduate management programme. Over an 18-year tenure, he progressed through various roles before joining Hilton International, where he held cluster General Manager positions prior to his current role in Bristol. He is a well-respected figure in the sector, having received the Caterer & Hotelkeeper ‘Acorn Award’ in 2003 and the IHIF European Young Leader Award in 2008.
Focus Hotels Management CEO Devin Grosse commented:
“We are delighted to see Adam take on this prominent leadership role. His appointment is testament to his commitment to the hotel industry and the quality of leadership he brings to our organisation. Adam’s dedication to people development and community partnerships perfectly reflects our values at Focus.”
As Chair of the BHA, Adam’s priorities are centred around developing the Association’s ‘people strategy’, working closely with industry partners, colleges and learning & development organisations. “Our main focus for 2025 and beyond is to invest in our people and the future of our sector. We want to lead the way in creating strong industry partnerships, while supporting the wider community through our social and charitable initiatives. This year brings new challenges, particularly around rising costs—wages, National Insurance, and goods. Our focus must be on smarter ways of working, innovation, and collaboration. The BHA’s role in working with key city leaders ensures we can help shape the direction of the industry at a critical time.”
The Bristol Hoteliers Association is a not-for-profit organisation representing key hotels across the city and surrounding areas. It was re-formed in January 2017 and plays an important role in advocating for the hospitality sector in the South West.
